This happened to me when I started out in online marketing whilst promoting the first MLM company I got involved with. I was on the verge of committing network marketing suicide, when I realised I was doing it all wrong!

Ironically, yesterday, a guy from Texas contacted me through Facebook. He asked me to tell him more about my primary business. Through our chat I got to know that he had been following me on Facebook for weeks. He now felt he had to check out what I had to offer.

The funny thing about it all was that he is already involved with another MLM business, but is still curious enought to want to know more about me and my work.

I asked the guy if he wanted to work with me personally, and he replied he was really glad I had asked. I then explained that in order to work with me he was first required to join my personal team. He signed up on the spot.

This is not the only case of automatic signups I’ve had. In fact this has been happening on a daily basis since I started implementing different strategies than those shown to me by my MLM business upline.

The key to marketing success is to have followers. Let me simplify this concept through an example:

Right now as I’m writing this article, the latest movie ‘Avatar’ is taking over the cinemas worldwide. Why? What is making people want to see it in the first place?

‘Avatar’ is a product of James Cameron, formerly known for his huge success in directing ‘Titanic’, another huge success, before which he had already directed other productions. On the course of time James Cameron was doing nothing other than building a following, starting from one movie to another. Success mounted with each production. So now that the latest product of James Cameron is out, everybody wants to see it, just because it’s his.

James Cameron has a following. Oprah has a following. Tyra has a following. I have a following. This is what makes people want to belong to you. Followers want to be on the same wavelength of success that the person they’re following is on.

It all begins with valuable content. If you provide valuable content without trying to pitch your business on anyone, it comes natural to everyone to want to explore you and learn more about you and what you do. Raw psychology. The less you urge, the more they’ll want from you, because of the content you provide and what you are.

Building a following takes some time and dedication, producing important and valuable content without expecting signups. Over the last couple of months I’ve been building a following, without expecting signups, but from the last couple of weeks I’ve been having an average of one person a day contacting me from various parts of the globe, wanting to join my business after following the content I’ve been providing these last couple of months.

Funny, only a couple of months ago I was seriously thinking of quitting network marketing due to failure. Just before doing so I gave a last shot and signed up for a system which was supposed to teach me how to create a following. I took my last chance, and within a week I got over 40 leads!

Today I drive thousands of people to my website 24 hours a day on a daily basis without presenting or forcing it to anyone!

You like the idea of automatic signups, right? This is how to do it:

1. Build a following;

2. Get automatic signups;

3. Contact all signups and build a relationship with them;

4. Train them personally and offer help constantly.
